the thing I am reading on fb and gs is same: sleep issue during Ramadan, just a question in normal days you guys don’t get up for fajr prayer, like me honestly ever since I became mum I stopped offering fajr prayer (lame excuse I know).
so wht is more difficult is it waking up early morning or cooking n eating at odd time?
for me both I find it difficult both getting up and then cooking and eating, but huby he gets up easily because its his daily routine getting up at fajr yeah eating part is difficult for him also.
DA, let me tell you a typical North American Muslims day in the area where I live. Isha starts at 11 pm, taraweeh finishes by 1 am, Fajr at 3:30 so you get up for sehri at 2:45 and go back to bed at 3:45 am, only to wake up again at 7:30 to go to work (not everyone had luxury to wake up at 7:30 and many wake up earlier). You come back home no earlier than 6 pm. Iftaar is at 9 pm. By the time your die with prayers and dinner and kitchen cleaning, it’s 10 pm already.
You hardly get a 5 hour sleep, if that.
^ I can undertsnad tht almost my huby got the same routine he has to daily travel to abu dhabi, but our iftari is around 7 :30 n by 10:30 you are done wth tarweeh
but I was just wondering wht is more difficult getting up or eating at tht time
If you’re referring to getting up at sehri time, then I find it neither hard to get up at that time nor to eat at that time. My wife does the cooking, so I’d imagine cooking at that time would be tough. She’ll do most of the cooking before that though and we’ll just warm up the food we already have at that time if anything.
Even if we’re talking about getting up for fajr in any other part of the year, most masjids have fajr toward the end time of the salat rather than its start time. I don’t get it with jamat as often as I should even then.
Right now I don’t have problem with either, after iftari I go to Isna and taraweeh and food is all digested and by the time of Sheri I am so hungry. even I cook I don’t mind it. It is working great for me. And I don’t have sleep problem, I am a night owl now a days so i wake up late and kids wake up late also. Non rozadaron ko Asani hai
sleep deprivation is my problem.
I have never been the kind to nap so falling asleep for a few hours, getting up and eating and then going back to sleep for another few is a problem for me.
Not to mention the fact that I have trouble falling asleep immediately after eating…I need a couple of hours at least..
'hmm .. I have vacations, so I stay up till fajr, pray and go to sleep. It means I get up about 1 hour before Zuhr, which is around 1.30 pm these days. And before someone starts their lecture on how I shouldnt be sleeping till Zuhr, save it .. Our iftar is 10 pm. I’m going to sleep till zuhr if I can!!
But for me it is about getting up which is the difficult part. I normally pray summer fajr in qaza
I don’t finish iftaar until 9:30-10pm anyway and after that is taraveeh time or if I don’t go for taraveeh… I try to stay awake until 3 am and eat my sehri. Recite Quran for an hour then pray fajr around 5 am then go to sleep. Working great so far!
