Jinnah thought that Religion (Islam) is enough to make a Nation (Pakistan)…
Religion & language, all play a part, but the most important to keep a country together is “similiar history, traditions, customs & values”.
What do you think..

Belief makes a nation…
It dont matter what that belief is as long as enough people hold it… ![]()

If that is true then he should have considered all non-Muslims to be non-Pakistanis.
If that is true then he should have proposed a union of ALL Muslims around the world.
You have NO idea how QA used to think. You are just putting your words in QA's mouth.
Re: What is it, that makes a nation?
QA's main argument was that the Muslims in India are a seperate nation.
QA seems to have backtracked - when he preached 'secularism' in his last speeches.
Faris says Belief is the main ingredient - but 'religious' differences in each sect (sunni, shia, ahmedi etc) seems to further divide the people of Pakistan.
So what makes a nation - customs? common suffering/history? what?
Re: What is it, that makes a nation?
ideology guided by religion is what makes a nation and with regards to larger picture an ummah.
Re: What is it, that makes a nation?
Education is the cheap defence of nations.

Belief does not have to be religous yaar ![]()
We dont always look to angels to come down and unite us… unity is achieved through common beliefs… our laws, our homes, our friendships and relationships, our spirit as a community…
We can believe in one another too…
It takes belief to stand together if you dont believe in yourself how can you believe the guy next to you… and on and on…
Without belief there is nothing.
It does not have to be religous dogma you know… any ideology requires commitment and to be commited to a cause you need to believe it.
When I step up to the platform I cannot entertain thoughts of defeat it’s all or nothing man you have to believe in victory and keep trying for it if your knocked down early you must use belief to conqour fear and when you do that you can come back even from the jaws of death! :faris:
