Calgary is a good choice IF you have the $$$$$ - seriously I know of so many familes that moved there because they heard from someone that people get $14/hour working in deps...lol what they didn't find out is how much housing costs and other costs are much higher! So now, all of the family members are working (some overtime) to afford. Also, the housing is limited in Calgary, most that migrate there are renting hotels.. Still Montreal is the best place to come to if you are wanting to settle in Canada. All desis come here first then move. Also look into the areas surrounding Toronto where the population is growing and so is the economy. Again don't move to Montreal if you don't want to bother with french. Other than that everything is fine!!!!!
There is no PST in Calgary (along with thousands of other stupid taxes that are levied on us Ontarians), so high housing prices can be compensated. And Calgary is oh-so-beautiful, I would move to the city for that reason alone! Ofcourse, I am talking about moving there as a pharmacist (and not for work in department stores), so you are right in the sense that people landing here in Canada from other countries should choose their destination carefully.
