rest of our body is like…muscles…and with fatigue and stuff…the muscles start ache…
but with headache…the brain isn’t doing anything phsyical like muscles…so where does headache come from?? is it the brain fatiguing? or the muscles/tissues on the head (outside the skull) which give us pain sensation??
Like queer said brain doesn't have pain receptors so its not the brain that is in pain during a headache. It's other tissue and bone around the brain for example sinuses, ears, eyes and a few other places.
You are right they are not. The exact cause of why you get a headache is not as simple is when you know your foot hurts it must be because its injured. I don't know the details as I wasn't a bio major and I don't think anyone really knows what causes a headache. Maybe someone else can answer that part.
Caffeine withdrawal gives me headaches. It is so weird, when i am having a headache, i consume caffeine to get rid of it as well. I read somewhere if you try to cut back, your blood pressure drops, leaving more blood in your head, which results in a headache. So, i m guessing headaches have something to do with the blood flow.....
Brain itself does not have pain receptors, but brain does have the somatotropic map in parietal cortex which is responsible for sensory input.
Headaches can be due to many things. For example, thunderclap headache is due to subarachnoid hemorrhage. Migraine headache, we do not know the etiology. Different etiologies have been proposed, ranging from vascular to neurogenic, who the heck knows.
Other headaches are due to muscle tensions in the occiput area, or even the temporalis muscle.
