What is an islamic wedding?

Faisal- oh but to have those four wives, he better be prepared to do EVERYTHING equally for them-from clothes to time. and every wife preceding must agree to the marriage. There are also other various rules to go with.

here how my wedding went although i live in USA..
First i went to Babul-Islam masjid (karachi)...my Uncle who is very religous called my nikkah my father and uncle from my side were witness..and my wife's father and uncle was witness from there side after that i went to wedding hall where we had seprate portion for men and women...that pretty much it...and off course we had waleema reception too...

 I am not arguing whether a guy or gal should marry four times or not or what are the rights of various spouses. I am just saying that technically a person can marry as many times as he or she wants in one life-time. Do you disagree?

However, just to point out (even though its not the religious forum) that according to a majority of islamic scholars, a man does not need permission from his first wife for marrying another woman. He might choose to do so, as a courtesy, but he doesn’t have to. The first wife can choose to demand divorce if she wants, but that is another issue. Just clearing the record.

How many of you are allowed to give "Fatwas" about what is Haraam and what is Halal in Islam? and that too without any references?

If you believe that ** dancing & singing ** are not Haram but are infact Halal then please bring this up in the Religion Forum along with all the references that you have, which have convinced you to come to the conclusion that what happens in ** desi mehndi ** today is actually "Halal" and that the Prophet SAW would have allowed this to take place in his presence.....

Thanks Fisal,

I loved the idea of shared Valima.

Thanks for answering the question, eventhough it is a year later. Better late than never! hehe. smile
