I am SO very flattered to have recieved a couple of these and when I get them, I accept…

But — I;d like to ask - what exactly is it? What does it do? am I supposed to do something with it?

You will become part of their Private blogs if they have one

And of course they will be able to access your blogs. You can also use a "buddy list" to check their names and send a PM to multiple people at once, rather than typing each name individually.
