Re: What if???
Let me start: stupid, brainless Afridi. Having just hit a six, why did he have to go in the air again as only 3 runs were needed off 3 balls? Why couldn't he have looked to hit a boundary or taken a double to tie the game before going for glory?
Re: What if???
That he never really thinks with his brain. Lets face it, he won't play well for another 5 years.
Re: What if???
I am pleased for Afridi and everyone but just wonder what if??? It was touch and go, so mighty close...The immense elation that we have seen since yesterday would have been replaced by huge disappointment no doubt had we lost and most of us here would be questioning whether Afridi really did need to go for that second six
Re: What if???
One of Afridi’s best innings: Misbah
One man who had no doubts about Afridi’s ability to own the big stage was Misbah-ul-Haq, his captain. “We expect innings like that from him,” said Misbah. “Whenever he gives himself a little bit of time in the middle, he plays sensible innings like that and he is always dangerous and he can win you games. He has already done it quite a few times, and I think this was one of his best innings. He really played well. The last two sixes were tremendous.”Afridi had walked in when Pakistan had just lost Mohammad Hafeez’s guiding hand and were 200 for 5 in 43.3 overs. An over later, Sohaib Maqsood was run out, and Afridi was the last of the recognised batsmen left. All he needed was a sighter of four balls before unleashing the power with a six and a four off Ravindra Jadeja.Like a good short-story writer with a surprising climax at the end, Afridi saved his most dramatic for the finale.“He likes to play his shots and the plan was that hopefully if one is mistimed and goes to hand, then we can have a good chance,” said Kohli. “It went in the air two or three times, but credit to him, it cleared the boundary well. He has always been big hitter, but we also took a chance that if he mistimes one of Ashwin’s carrom balls at the end, then we’ll have a good chance. It was like that – if he had mistimed it, we would have won, and if he hit a good shot, the game would have gone the other way.”Afridi did not in fact have the best timing on his final two shots, but he had muscled the ball with all his might, resulting in the first hit going over extra cover, and the second, decisive one, over long-on. The two sixes when his side needed 9 runs off 4 balls sparked wild celebrations in the middle, with Afridi at the centre of it all.“This was a very important win,” said Misbah. “I am very happy for Shahid Afridi, who has come in for a lot of criticism in the last two matches. He showed his experience today and made us win a game that had almost gone out of our hands.”

Re: What if???
I was just having this discussion with my family and their opinion was that it was a tuqa. He doesn't think but then again Afidi ain't Afridi if he thinks.
Re: What if???
What if umpires had given out LBW on Hafeez bowling? ![]()
Re: What if???
Miandad had no option but to go for glory as Pakistan needed a boundary off the last ball
Here the equation was 3 off 3 balls ![]()
Re: What if???
afridi already made mistakes ....crossing with talha was a disaster!
anyway...yes we won but i have completely lost trust in this team's chasing abilities...well i lost that trust long time ago but now this team is trying its best to show how mediocre it is....i mean you need 15 runs in 3 overs with 4 wickets in hand and look what they did.....they lost to india last year after bowling them out for 165....batting is a complected disaster and we have ZERO solution...just few days ago they were a disaster against sri lanka....problem is that once we lose 5 wickets we have nothing left
Re: What if???
Afridi was caught many times on the boundary, while the fielder's hands were high above his head. At that time I used to think, what if the ball had gone few inches above the hands of the fielder. Why is he mostly caught on the boundary when a six could have changed the game. Why is he always so unlucky, even after playing a good shot.
Nature decided to compensate for those bad lucks & favor him this time.
Re: What if???
Shikhar Dhawan and Rayadu were out LBW. Ashwin out csught behind. Game wouldn't have been close.
Re: What if???
well I actually thought k out ho gaya hai until I saw ashwin, I said out ho gaya atleast he tried bc junaid se single bhi nhi hona tha but then I saw ashwin :D
