Re: What if -
People opt for Pakistan just for Islam. Sindhi, Punjabi, Pashtoon, Baloch are not one nation. Islam was their binding force and collect them on one platform i.e. Pakistan. Soon after independence, that binding force was attacked by different groups (not to talk about outsiders, it was from within). Islam tells us to respect people, their Culture, Language, etc. It was not followed and the result is before us.
Islam gave us an opportunity to get a country.. freely exercise our religion. be economically independent.. but our leaders and people took the country and religion for granted for their personal benefits. This country got disloyalty in its very roots. Islam is not responsible for Pakistan’s current situation. Its the long story of greed and corruption (not supported by Islam) which is behind this failure. Islam was easy to follow code for people of Pakistan, but it has been ruled by people having no respect for religion. They were just ambitious people interested in their own agenda. Islam was just manipulated (like any other ideology in the world) and has never been implemented in Pakistan. So, saying that Islam is the root cause of problems is wrong IMO.
Yes…Allah swt might have given us the chance to become a bigger and better nation but are only Muslims entitled to a nation in Pakistan? What about the Christian Pakistanis? Hindu Pakistanis? What about other minorities? What’s to become of them?
OP is not saying that Islam in general is the problem.
The problem becomes when you mix religion, government, and misguided people. Yes, the people interpret the religion, but since idiotic politicians will **always **exist, you must remove causes through which they attempt to garner favour with the masses.
Do you honestly believe that **all **citizens are protected equally under Sharia law, **regardless of their faith or sect, or lack thereof? **
