What if...

…there were no “what ifs” in our lives? Would it make a difference about how we make decisions or live our life? How would it change your life?

And please, for the sake of the discussion the only “what if” possible is the one asked in the question.

Re: What if...

i'd opened this thread with high expectations that this would be a sequel to the gender-bender series of what-if threads by tlk. but no... -__-

do you mean, what if everything was absolutely certain in life? isn't this a self-defeating question? everything is certain and decided, so what is the question again?

Re: What if...

^ Not so much that the future was certain, but that the past was settled and in the past and couldn't be revisited.

Re: What if...

with mind comes "what if"

I can not even imagine the scanario that what if we dont have "what ifs"

Re: What if...

I think "what if" has more to do with one's ability to choose and sense of regret. Being human its natural. Cant really do without it, can we?

Re: What if...

ohh.. as in no wondering over choices made in the past? not the whatifs i'd suspected even remotely of being the protagonists on this thread!

most people make mistakes and wrong choices every day. i think one thing smart people do is learn from mistakes. if we stop paying heed to our past, and possibilities we've been on the losing side of due to bad decisions, we may tend to make them again. but healthy medium, as always. being a scaredy cat is no good either.

Re: What if...

Mirage sort of touched on it. It's more the idea of not being burdened by regrets and the desire to revise history. Taking responsibility for choices and the outcomes because the past cannot be changed. And maybe even not having the will to change the past.

I'm not saying don't learn from the past, we should learn from our prior actions and decisions, but not being stuck.

Maybe this was a better blog entry than a thread...

Re: What if...

this sounds like very deep foolsafa...
