What if..

1-Pakistani Government decides to ban anyone “actively participating” in Pakistani politics, holding ANY responsible and influential position… to whoever has permanent residency and citizenship of another country…

and,

1-a) to whoever has anyone blood relative,… who holds permanent residency or citizenship of another country?

ALSO:

Like other declarations:

1-b) What if the Govt. of Pakistan asks the question to declare such in public?

What difference will that make?

Re: What if..

How can they ban themselves?

Re: What if..

Can this thread be moved to jokes section? :P

Re: What if..

They will issue declarations against themselves?

Re: What if..

Most countries have this law. The US does. So does India. However the people in Power in Pakistan will never allow it. They all have dual nationalities.

Re: What if..

Wow i never knew you can be a Pak govt official when u hold another passport !!

Interesting !! Any other country allows this. What abt ur president ???

India does not even allow dual citizenship. Which I personally think is great.

Re: What if..

I might be mistaken, but I vaguely remember a SC ruling, that said dual citizens are not allowed to hold public office, according to law.

Some politicians hide it, and in the dictators Mush's time, it was openly flaunted with American citizen Shaukat Aziz as PM

Re: What if..

That is not true. There are three, what the indians call non resident indians, part of politics in india .. off the top of my head. Sonia gandhi is an italian citizen as well (the italian government orgs recognize her as such), regardless of what indian friends will claim.

to the actual thread.

what will that achieve? are you trying to make a point against mqm somehow? perhaps against ppp and the zardaris? Don't be vague, use the english language, create a clear cut and thought out point and let people know.

Re: What if..

:hmmm:

:smack:

Please, please, Indians!

The world does not revolve around your country.

This thread is NOT about you!

Please quote the law. It will be helpful.

There is nothing vague about the question and I used English Language.

Let me clarify s anyone who starts the thread and sees the confusion among readers.

I only asked in bold sentence after describing scenario 1, 1(a) and 1(b):

"What difference will that make?"

That is a simple question.
Nothing against anyone and any party.

So,
**
What difference ‘it’ will make?**

Re: What if..

Arnold had a dual nationality while he was the governminator wasnt he?

Re: What if..

US president can not be born outside the US or be of another nationality. He can not be a naturalized citizen. Feel free to google it.

In India you can play part in politics. You can not hold the top two positions in the country with dual nationality.

Re: What if..

My first question is still not really answered. :(

So the laws like that do exist.

The reason one can understand that every country wants to have people in power purely dedicated to that country.

So , why in Pakistan this is not implemented?

Re: What if..

they allow this for NRI's mostly industrialists and businessmen , for govt servants and members of parliaments it is not allowed.
