What if..

you were told you could have only 1 day for your wedding, not the regular 3 day (mehndi, barat, walima) drill that we go through, just 1 day when you could go all out and call it a rest. Wouldn’t life be much simpler? How would you spend the day? How would you want it to be, a combo of mehndi-nikah,or just a reception?

Re: What if..

^^ id never want that.....NO WAY!!! :D

Re: What if..

:nahi: never ever, I would demand my 3 days back or refuse to get shadi-d

btw somebody actually did that, it just felt wrong. The walima and baraat were on the same day.

Re: What if..

I'd jump for joy!!!

Re: What if..

no way i would be driving evry1 crazy :naraz:

Re: What if..

hahaha.. ask my fiance he would start jumping like crazy.... i always wanted atleast 2 days.. and no mehndi... but i am getting 5 days of special treatment :|

dholki/mayoon/mehendi/shadi/valima

but now i am all excited...

Re: What if..

Hell to the NO i want my days to be treated like a princess and be center of attention and look like a glamour queen!

Re: What if..

1 day?! There should be atleast 7 days of partying. Yeh kaisi shadi howi?

Re: What if..

1 day sounds great :)

Re: What if..

1 day sucks

as said above at least 5 days

ahh there is noo fun in one day yaar! I had dholki two weeks before, mehndi the night before, ruksati and then small valima in the afternoon.. but one day is simply not enough at all.

Re: What if..

1 day is really boring....
My BIL married 1 day..no mehendi...no baraat...no proper walima...it was just a small party...no dhol nothing...really boring...

Like a gora party...but without music and dance

Re: What if..

I would do a 2-day event. One huge mehdni party with a same day nikkah. And then one joint baraat/valima.

The first party I’d have at home - top it out at about 75- 100 people and have a huge hungama. And for the baraat/valima keep numbers to under 150 people (100 would be ideal, but not practical) and have it at a really nice venue, but spend money wisely - I can’t justify spending the cost of a downpayment for a really nice home for my wedding - maybe just half a home’s downpayment.

Now, it’s just a matter of finding Mr. Right :hmmm:

Re: What if..

I guess u cud work it, but Id much rather if it was possible to have each day Mendi, Nikkah Ruksati and Walima gives u a chance to dress up and enjoy some very imp days of ur life! Although if I had to compromise it for having a happy wedded life then I wouldnt mind!

Re: What if..

And Dholki bulding up to the wedding!

Re: What if..

i don't think theres anything wrong with it,
less fuss,, save money, get a better and more luxurious honeymoon !

Re: What if..

long weddings makes u loose ur sleep...n being sleep deprived is the worst thing i can have on my wedding..cz i get too edgy if i havent slept properly..so for that thing and economically too..i wud prefer a 1 day wedding or most 2 days.

Re: What if..

well i'd have the mehndi as a small gathering at home the night before, then the next day have the nikah early afternoon with family and close friends present. maybe somewhere outdoors and have a marquee set up. i'd dress up in a bridal outfit for that, but not a really heavy one n then change in the evening into another heavier outfit and have a big walima

Re: What if..

i'd be SO happy... I cant stand 3 day weddings and the looong process of the bloody dolkis. Nah, I'd have Nikkah. a beautiful dress. Get changed into another dress. And thats it. That would be amazing. And weirdly i said to my dad few weeks back that i only want one function i dont want anything else.

Snap!! That sound PERFECT!
