^ first case no - he is a shaki mizaj admi always doubting his wife for no reasons.

second case yes - drugs I believe not alcoholism .

But I can tell you from my personal experience even a man who has not even tasted a drop of liquor can be a habitual abuser towards his wife & kids. I have been a victim of it. Abusive nature does not necessarily stems from bad habits like drugs or liquor it can also be a result of abusive child hood , greed for money , narcissistic personality disorder and many other reason.
