Yep…this happens too. And this is the worse case scenario IF the child is old enough to understand. (ie. probably age 5 and up where he/she actually will remember the “dad” as he/she grows up). I know someone who dealt with a case like this where the daughter was around 12. “Dad” was ok with paying child support but never wanted to see the “daughter” again b/c according to him…she was a living reminder of his wife’s betrayal. VERY sad case…girl literally ended up in the mental hospital b/c of depression/attempted suicide.
