Re: what if the whole world was in the same time zone
Lets assume that the earth was a bigger globe and the whole population of 6 billion people were living on a very long but thin continent so that pretty much everyone was in the same time zone, means we were all up at the same time and sleeping at the same time,
how different that world would be?
Multinational companies wouldn't be able to same amount of profit as they'd have to close down everywhere for atleast 12 hours.
TV companies would make more profit due to airing sporting events that can be seen at a reasonable time by the whole world.
Re: what if the whole world was in the same time zone
I don't think much would change really ... People would just adjust accordingly ... When the southern hemisphere are in the winter and northern in the summer then a 7:00am time will be a sunny in the north and still dark in the south ... Time Zone is also not related at all to time of day according to the sun's position. For example Turkey, Makkah and Doha are all three in the same time zone, but they are in very different places ... Their astral phenomena will take place at similar "times" at the peak in Summer, but not any other time ... Mostly since Doha precedes Makkah the azdan for dzuhr is 11:20, in Makkah it is at 12:00 and in Turkey at 12:40 ... or something like that ... this is because they are all in the same time zone ... Makkah is +3 hrs GMT if Doha was given +4 hrs GMT then they would be doing their dzuhr at 12:20 and Makkah at 12:00 and Istanbul if it was kept at +2 hrs GMT then they would be doing their dzuhr at 11:40 ... So Time Zone is meaningless in terms of physical phenomena ...
If I were to telephone UK from Doha I would need to know that it is 3:30pm here in Doha and that UK are 12:30pm - most likely at lunch ... But if all the time zone is the same say UK GMT is the standard then it would 2pm in Doha and 2pm in UK ... UK would have had their lunch 1 hour earlier and Doha would have had their lunch may be at 9am or 10 am as that time would correspond to their midday.

Psyah, I was at least expecting you to say that during EId, we probably would not be having all the fights over local and global moon sightings.
