driving: i enjoy stopping where i please to take pics
train: i love to hang out the doorway and take pics
bus: i gotta be seated by the window so i can take pics
plane: ditto...
ship: love not being able to see land even after straining my eyes
i'm not particular about traveling luxury, it's rather boring and predictable ... i've found that it's much more fun to travel with the masses. where i stay is another matter, it's gotta be up to the mark.
interesting co-passengers, the places u stop at along the way, having meals on board, sleeping in a berth on the train or bus... it's not your everyday experience, and i enjoy every bit of it all.
Namkeen> Wow! looks like u like to travel - and i can see from what u sed that u carry ur digi cam everywhere u go...im quite d same, culdnt live without my camera!
pakistani trains: the scenic route, the magazine walas at every stop, the garam channay waala, chai wala, anday-garam waala...the food my grandma would make everytime we travelled by train in pakistan ....she would make parathay and keema everytime and put it in one of those steel cylinder like lunch boxes. i prefer travelling by train than by plane when travelling in pakistan. there is so much you get to see.
i love the foodies during international plane travel. PIA and emirates are always generous with the food. my only fear of plane travel is when the plane flies over the atlantic ocean. i cross my heart and hope NOT to die the whole time.
when i was 13 my family traveled Amtrak, from NYC to Tampa, it took like 22 hours. the main reason for doing that was so we could have Dad to ourselves for a good stretch of time and spend quality family time. i remember my neighbour had packed chicken curry for us to eat on the way, and when we took our lunch, the aroma brought the conductor over to us, “what is that, it smells so good!” and we invited him to eat with us. it was not a pretty sight watching the gora eat roti-salan with his fingers we saw the capitol in the moonlight as the train crossed DC around midnight. it was a lot of fun… the train wasn’t packed and we had lots of room.
that sounds like fun!....i was close to taking amtrak once....but never did...travelled by car instead. i dont like long car travel unless the car is huge and very comfy.
Traveling is fun. Each place has something unique about it - doesn't matter if its a small place.
we get to see
New places
new people
different food
different culture
history/buildings
If time permits, i like to go to places using different trains, trams, buses because thats how we can really "observe". Or I just love to walk.
I love flying so I enjoy longer flights too. Being in air makes me happy.
shoe fallls kaun si wali niagra or angel or something else
wise i think that when u are leaving u are more excited and happy about the things to see their but when coming back its way too boring especially in plane.
once i was seated at the back of the plane, and i didn’t like that much… but as it turned out, that was where the stewards/stewardesses hung out, in the galley behind my seat. so i had a real interesting convo with them about their flying experiences, got a peek into the cockpit (an experience which only children get usually, and i never did, as a child) i got a glimpse into their lives, and they plied me with food/drinks, so it was a fun trip :k:
alhumdulillah i don’t believe i’ve ever had a boring travel experience ever…
Drove accross Europe (almost 90% covered), North America (east coast of USA, Canada (Halifax to Vancouver), Houston to Mexico city. Why do I prefer/enjoy driving? I am in full control. I like to watch the country not the landscape from the aeroplane window. I meet people from small villages (& tell them I am from Pakistan, to my amazement many had no clue what or where Pakistan is), I get to know the culture & how people behave to foreigners etc.
While in aeroplane (usually long flights) I prefer to read some book or if an interesting movie offered I'd watch that. I rarely speak to strangers since in the present world we have no idea who is who sitting next to you.
