what has gone wrong with this forum

When I started reading this forum there was educational debate about problems faced by people today and how we can look at them with guidance from religion.

What has it become now..
A ‘ultimate fighting’ style contest between people following different sects trying to prove which one is right.

Geez people.. get a life.. If it was possible for people to prove that they were on the ‘correct’ path.. there will not be that many sects.

So for what you cannot do - something which was foretold by our prophet - is have one big happy family in Islam. for we know that can only happen after the great battle.

So my advice to people is stop fighting and leave the forum of discussion on how to apply religion in our daily life.

Differences are bound to happen as people have different background/ requirements etc.. but these differences are to be embraced for if God wanted people to have no differences, we all would look alike and talk alike and feel alike.

As that is not possible.. leave the forum for intellegent discussion.. before all that is left of the forum is mudslinging.

I agree !!! So think of someting else that we can discuss in here other than this sect. stuff…uhhhh.. ne ideas ???

They shoot partypoopers, don’t they?

Agreed blackzero, this forum has especially gone to dogs... almost all the debates end up in bashing, cursing, allegation, accusation etc etc... thanks to the technology, we are on the other side of the screen.

Over the time of three years the crowd has changed... we had members (like deepblue, stud, achtung, ali-abbas, jewels, rubiyanur, yasir, roman.. etc) who despite of diversity in faiths, keep up their morals… now we have some arrogant members who can loose everything for the sake of their egos. They think religion is their legacy and they are the owners of their Gods and Prophets. Somehow the magic word “tolerance” is missing in every second thread. This is the only reason wise don’t bother to step in…

I think the forum should be named as ‘kids corner’ rather than an intellectual debate deck. Or the admins should think about increasing the moderators. (I wonder why they have two for meeting people forum).

yeh they should not let chokeedar in..waisay bhi gupshup per chokeedaro ka kiya kaam

At last someone who agrees with me, cut out the fighting.

Sheraz,

People who live in glass houses should be careful not to through stones.

black zero,

Please do me a personal favour. Run a search in this section. Go back to when those members were actively posting. Revive the thread.....if only with a smiley in it....just bring it back to current so that we can show people what good debates are like.

Thanks in advance.

so u are saying k kharabi mujh main hai? at first i got emotional cuz i dont want to hear any BS about my beliefs, then i grew up and tried for us to be united, then they came up with "why we say shia are non muslim" thread, sorry but i am not gona tolerate that

Sheraz,

What I am saying is that you should not be pointing the finger at others' when you, yourself have been restricted from posting for valid reasons.

Btw...have you heard that kid's rhyme: "Sticks and stone may break my bones but names will never hurt me!"

It means that what other's say has little to no impact on our lives. We can ask other's to be polite and follow rules...but if they don't, it is not enough justification for us to drop to their level.

Zalim,

GfQ is doing an excellent job moderating this forum, better than I could ever dream of. I don't think quality by any means have anything to do with the current moderatorship.

The only feedback I can perhaps give to GfQ is to make her presence more visible in the forum in terms of her participation and views on various topics as that'd be a positive addition to the atmosphere.

If people would put references with their clames and accusations, we would not have these problems.

Other thing, everyone is here to change others not to improve ones own self.

Shia sunni, muslim/hindu, muslim/ahmadi debates can be discused in a very humanly manner if given a chance and following appropriate rules and regulations.

it has started again..

can't people just let it be..

There is no person alive on this planet who doesn't have any faults.

So keep that in mind before anyone points any fingers at anyone.

Lets keep the debate clean..
or as the referee says at the begining of each boxing fight..
'keep it clean'
