what has changed

Re: what has changed

You want a فرعون imposed on Pakistan?
Would YOU like to live in such a state? Are you in Pakistan?

Re: what has changed

No work against "extremism" can achieve anything unless organizations like LET, LJ, SM are disbanded, thrown into jail and prosecuted, we are fighting a surface war against TTP that is all we are doing.

Re: what has changed

I dont see anychange infact things are getting worse day by day

Re: what has changed

It's somewhat like Obama's presidency, people felt good about a first black president who is smart, articulate and sincere. However good he is, he can only do so much to undo the mistakes of past governments that has come to haunt US economy. Similarly, it appeared good for a while, a dictator sent packing, judiciary was restored, TV and news media got its freedom back, but the blunders and short sighted staregic moves of previous Pakistan administrations (from Ayub to Mush) is not too easy to be undone by any one administration that too one like the current one.

I know the poster did not has about the way forward, but I am compelled not to finish by post without an answer. It will take few years, I see only two ways out of this; 1) an Islamic revolution that will live it's shelf life and get back to normal or 2) someone strong should step in to squash the radicals and take the country back to Jinnah's ideology and it's not Mushy who played the worst hand possible. He screwed up makeable hand with 7 tricks short.

I think any administration can say that it's tough to reverse the impact of the screw ups of the previous regimes, and much of it is true. Even when the right steps are taken, it takes time for the impact to be seen.

Question is, have you seen the needed steps taken, and if so what are they?

I wanted to keep it clear of personalities and leaders and more on actions and interim or real results for the reason that it would help with a calmer discussion, which is the case so far :-)

Re: what has changed

Most of the Pharaos worked for their people...some of them did íbadat on one leg for their folks...get history...hmmmmmmmm

PS: It was one of the Pharao (Atem...I guess) who came up with the idea of one god which Moses followed...and later christainity and Islam...

Re: what has changed

Are you a Muslim?

Re: what has changed

Sure.

Re: what has changed

Yes...I am muslim...but a bad one... :D

Re: what has changed

Everything has changed for the worse.

Before, we had a dictator in the President house running the country. Now we have two civilian dictators, one in the president house running the country and the other influencing country's policies from his home in Raiwind. Both of them are un-elected, the first one was somehow "elected" by the parliament after being approved for the post in a meeting in Pentagon.

The parliament is even less effective as it was previously. Knowing this fact, most of it's members don't bother to attend any of it's sessions.

Shoukat Aziz has been downgraded to another version in the form of Gillani.

Iftikhar Chaudry, who was supposed to be a Chief Justice of an independent Judiciary has been reduced to an anti-PPP, anti-Mush judge.

Pakistan was free from IMF, now it's not.

No amount of description can describe the real state of law and order, economy, governance etc. in the country. You have to live there to know that. There is a general breakdown of every sector in Pakistan at the hands of incompetent politicians.

Re: what has changed

Nothing

Re: what has changed

Now face the truth

Re: what has changed

^ Damning article. While it is clearly quite biased and one-sided, I believe there is some truth in it too

Re: what has changed

I am sorry again but it is whole truth.
I tell you one thing clearly.
I have much time to know and think
and I found only one way
Lower ranks

Re: what has changed

So you are saying the military/ISI is complicit. What about the government?
