Nothing

Re: What has changed in Pakistan in the last 10 years?

Pakistan was much more peaceful 10 years ago, you can go to a mosque or church and pray peacefully but nowadays your thinking will there be a suicide bomber praying behind me? 10 years ago our economy was bad but now it's worse. We had a huge economic growth in 2002 though, KSE was awarded best performing
stock exchange of the year in 2002 as well. I just wish the 2002-2005 era could come back. Pakistan is just more violent now.

Re: What has changed in Pakistan in the last 10 years?

I am only talking about Facts and figures please do not get Offended by FACTS
thank you

1999 Pakistan was a bank corrupt country as the IMF programs were suspended and foreign exchange reserves fell to dangerously low level …

The economic reforms by the MUSH govt reversed the situation totally , in 2007 Pakistan was the fastest growing economy in ASIA with over $ 15 Billion reserves in foreign Exchange, as against little more then $ 500 million when he took office from Nawaz Sharif .

the GDP Growth RATE was 6% for 7 YEARS ..

1999 stock market was hovering around 700 and in 2006 it was up at 15000 .

He Introduced Local goverments ,

He allowed international banks such as Barclays and ABN to start Retail banking

He introduced food chains such as McDonald , Pizza hut ,KFC etc etc..

HE introduced media freedom in Pakistan. we now have over 100 Channels while before musharraf there was only 1 entity PTV

Re: What has changed in Pakistan in the last 10 years?

your right but people are still whining about him. The people that are hating zardari right now are gonna be the same people waiting in line to vote for PPP in 2013.

Re: What has changed in Pakistan in the last 10 years?

I think the most important thing established in the last 10 years is the electronic media, thanks to a military ruler.

Media is a pillar of any nation and that was mostly missing in the first 50 years of Pakistan. We only had PTV as a news source and print media which was not so vibrant.

Though electronic media has not been acting responsibly, at-least we get to know what's going around in our country.

Re: What has changed in Pakistan in the last 10 years?

It was 6% for 3 years

WRONG, KSE reached 15000 in 2008.

Re: What has changed in Pakistan in the last 10 years?

Things have only gotten worse. Survival is getting more and more difficult due to inflation. People are getting poorer. Due to insurgency, earthquake, and floods, the future looks even bleaker.
The look of the area I live in has gone from bad to worse.

Re: What has changed in Pakistan in the last 10 years?

In the past 10 years the following has not changed:

  1. Pakistanis by and large are still whiny little edited who complain more and act less.
  2. Pakistanis still do nothing to make their country but complain like 2 dollar edited.
  3. Oh yes they do the most on GS and think they are being "modern"

Re: What has changed in Pakistan in the last 10 years?

^ The thread was about what has changed in PAKISTAN, not about PakistaNIS. Besides, your first two points are almost the same, while the third point is not about any change in anything at all.

But I know what is pis*ing you off. So carry on.
