What happens

when you are bhunoing onions to make aloo gosht and you decide to look at new posts on GS and you spot a juicy thread and you get so engrossed that the onions become dark brown but because you don’t want to cut some more onions and go through the process again, you add the gosht to it and continue cooking anyway?

Will the salan be bitter? If so then how can I make it taste nicer?

Re: What happens

go into cafe forum and all will be better like a fairytale

Re: What happens

This is real life crickey :emmy: Cafe is for fun :AID:

Re: What happens

that's what im saying, stop reading life issue forums while cooking and read cafe, it will be better for the cooking. get it, less burning!!!

Re: What happens

The taste won't be bitter, dont worry.

Re: What happens

I don't think salan can be bitter but you can always use lemon and raita with the salan to improve the taste...

When something like this happens to me then I either add 1-2 tbsps of yogurt and reduce the heat and let the onions cook in that yogurt for couple mins then add tomato and other masala or I throw them away and start over....it depends on the state of your onions, if they have changed color brown to black you want to throw them away...

Re: What happens

oh yah and garam masala rescues any dish :@:

Re: What happens

Ok, the salan was darker than I would have liked it to be, but it was yummy. Phew! I should have added yoghurt but I didn't think about it.

^ Yoghurt works best!

Re: What happens
