Well in this case it was Islam. I have always believed that you can’t force a religion upon another person. You can’t force them to care for or believe in another religion - no matter how hard you try.
Unfortunately there are so many people out there , who force religion upon others.I think this is the biggest mistake one can ever make.Instead of bringing a person closer to Allah , these so called religious people are doing a great job of making a person’s life miserable.More than anything, the thought of that family just makes me so sad.
i mean when u go to pakistan or other so called islamic countries, u see kids at the age of 4-5 being taught Quran and they get caned if they dont read properly.. i know i was but it doesnt mean i left Islam..
i agree though, abuse and violence is the worst way to make someone believe..
Very true. Religion cannot be and must never be imposed. Parents must educate their children and the let them think for themselves what they want to be.
You should never be too strict where you are abusive and violent, but then again you should never be so leniant where anything goes. After all parents will be asked on Judgment Day about their role in their childs upbringing.
There should be middle ground in your approach between both extremes.

A religion is taught- and parents are supposed to do that. But when a person forces a belief onto another ...they cant force it into anothers heart.
laeeqkhan--- Yeah , parents are supposed to teach and guide their children.
sadzz--- I actually dont believe in hitting children. Not if they dont know Quran properly- nor for any other so called wrong deed. If you hit a 5 year old because he didnt learn a lesson- truth is hitting him wont make him learn it. Talking and explaining helps. Hitting is never an answer to anything. Esp where religion is concerned.
with any ideology if it is forced the people will reject it.
Islam clearly states you should use the mind to understand and come to conclusions about life, forcing someone to accept an idea just is'nt going to work.
Possibly.Or beating the crap out of the kids if they make a mistake while reciting the Quran. Or not letting them have friends, or any fun in life. But rather constantly caging them inside and making them read, and listen to what some parents believe is the way to teach Islam. Using physical and mental abuse in the name of religion.Oh some people just make me sick.
ak47-- agreed.I mean that family I was talking about ....broke up.The girl is now an atheist.

You are right MuslimQueen, that is how Pakistani families in UK loose their kids. I mean my girl friend was born muslim in a Pakistani family and similar things happened to her and now she is with me not muslim any more. I realy respect her.

That was the case for you gf? You respect her because she left Islam, or the fact that she got out of a miserable life?

Muslimqueen, I respect her not because she left Islam but because she made a right decision to choose freedom, which is her right. She is very inteligent person, Had she not made the decision her inteligence and beauty would have been faded away in no time.
