Re: What happens if you let a whining baby/kid cry and not do what its demanding?
The thing is they’re not hurt, or upset or hungry or even sad. They’re screaming because they want their mother’s attention 24/7. We tried this with my cousin whose toddler is infamous in her family for screaming like a jaguar whenever her mother even talks to someone else. The daughter cried hysterically as her mother left the room and then in under a minute forgot all about her and watched dora for the next hour. It’s not traumatic at all for her like it is for the mother who kept messaging me afterwards, freaking out.
Obviously I’m talking about kids who have a whole system and routine of screaming and getting their way and not kids who occasionally act out. Like when my niece wants water scream, when she wants to go back home scream, when she wants her mother to stop talking to anyone else scream, when she doesn’t want to eat scream. Totally want to high five my niece for making her parents dance at her fingers because if my ears weren’t being affected it would be more amusing. ![]()
