What happens at a beauty parlour?

Especially when you’re a bride.

What do they do first? Hair? Make Up? How long does it normally take?

Please don’t laugh. It’s just my curiosity asking here and it’s something I’ve always wanted to know.

well for me it was first nail painting thn make up thn hair style n jewlary n in the end dupata setting
the whole process took almost 3 hrs ooohhhhh

dont worry, thats a normal question.

When i went to pakistan to get married, the first thing they did was cleanse my face, making sure its clean and hydrated...she put lots of hydrating creams on my face as it was dryish...and some of it on lips, and then she put a primer on, i think its a base for makeup....all of this was dermalogica stuff...so good stufff.

then she left me for 15 mins for the creams to sink in, and make up was done first....dont know why. i assumed hair would be done first. but its not, because hair has to be held in a way for the duppatta to sit on head so thats why.

yeah makeup doesnt take tooo long, you enjoy the experience...its the hair thats annoying.....too much backcombing gave me migraines....

and then duppatta....

the whole thing took 2 and half hours.......

DEPILEX.....THE BEST....AND THE MUA was not only stunning herself..she was soooooo nice and proffessional,,not like the typcial ones..

Oh well thats good. I've heard mixed reviews about them.

Iam just nervous about what goes on in there. How people go in looking so plain and come out looking so transformed! :)

I just dont understand how they keep the make up from sticking for so long! How come it doesnt all melt away with the heat and tears?

and what about changing the dress....i have seen brides stepping into the parlour wearing their wedding kurties with shalwars:D

yup the first step was to wear my blouse then the whole procees started after hair styling n jewlary i wore my shoes n langha n in the end dupata setting

  • You're face is cleansed and prepped.
  • You're hair is pulled away from your face
  • You're nails are painted.
  • You're base/foundation is done
  • Eye-makeup
  • Hair/flowers
  • Contouring
  • Lipstick
  • Lehnga, shoes, dupatta and jewellery
  • Final touch-ups and shimmer powder.

Two days before the wedding (the day of the mehndi) I had my facial, threading and waxing done. I did not have my make up done for my mehndi (did just a bit on my own for a more natural look). On the day of the wedding, they did some threading touch-ups and then the make-up artist did my make up and I got a pedicure and manicure.

I went to Cistre in the Karachi Sheraton.

Also, my make up wasn't too heavy but it was bridal. I think I still looked like myself just better. But when Ammi came in to find me, she went up to another bride!

whilst you were getting your make up done as well? Didn't that feel weird?

I thought they did grooming stuff beforehand.

2 days before my nikah I had my face waxed and facial done to bring the brightness. I got ready at Madeeha's in lahore. I was asked to put my blouse on after I washed my face. After that I had foundation done first, then hair done.. once hair was done I had the makeup and final touches done. Last my nails were done since I had full set done few days before. I think it took about 3 hours for everything..

^ good stuff. I spend about an hour and a half to normally get ready so 3 hours should be a doddle

another question, what time do u usually go to the parlour, matlab if ur shaadi is at night, so when do u get there.
and dont you get tired sitting there, what sort of atmosphere is in there.
is there something you can do to feel relaxed ?

i spend 1 hour....i use only kajal,face powder and lipstick though:D
