Is it running still? Is it a hit? Has it been released in Pakistan in dubbed version?
It has not been released in the USA and i dont think it will be released there ever.
The film had only been shown at either Film Festivals or as a special showing until now. The problem the financiers had was to try and get some to distribute it. Finally they have found some distributors in US. They are however still looking for distributors in Europe and UK. The film is due to be released in US on August 14th of this year. Apparently the film was shown to some senators a few weeks back in the states and they gave a good reaction to it.
Also the film when it comes out will be called "Dare to Dream"
TRUE GUYS I DIND'NT EVEN THINK ABOUT IT WHEN YOU WENT AHEAD. I WAS WAITING FOR IT TO COME OUT ALL OVER THE 98 PERIOD AND FINALLY YOU ARE TELLING ME IT NEEDS DISTRIBUTORS. I AM SO EXCITED TO WATCH THAT FILM...........I NEED IT!
ANY WAY GOOD LUCK TO OUR ONE AND ONLY HOLLYWOOD BLOCK FILM, AS YOU CAN'T CALL IT BLOCKBUSTER AS ANY ONE IN AMERICA AND U.K CAN NOT AVOID BEING RACIST!
SEE YA

A friend of mine who is a fan of Dev Anand told me "I used to go to see his films on the first day, first show. If I don't see, who will see? And if I don't see on the first day, who will show?"
Maybe you hurry up as it is released.
Okay...is this playing in Toronto?
So finally I'm gonna get to see this movie. Apparently some students with the PSA have managed to get their hands on it and we've been invited to watch it tonight. (Note: This is not a public viewing.)
More comments from us after.....
PSA of which university Muzna?
In the Toronto area...not sure if I'm allowed to say or not.....dun'wanna get anyone in trouble, you know.
I saw it but it isnt worth watching from a political standpoint.
Gandhi, on the other hand, is a better representation of the year 1947 to and fro...but Jinnah wasn't at all appealing.

This movie many people dont know was released in major cities like Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto about 3 years ago. But I didnt get a chance to see it. It was released in the summer of Pakistan last year.
I disagree with X communist on what he says in this post. Gandhi was a movie which showed an extremely negative image of Qaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. On the other hand Richard Attenbrough showed this unique image of Gandhi fighting for both Muslim and Indian rights and agreeing upon the partition of the sub continent very easily. Which is not true at all. Ben Kingsley on the other had I must admit made a great replica of Gandhi!
But then again I have seen some images of Jinnah and Sir Christpher Lee looks wonderful as Muhammad Ali Jinnah too! I cant wait to watch the movie. I have heard a boot leg copy is avaiable in Pakistan now on VCD and also a friend of mine told me that Jinnah can be downloaded from APNA MOVIES on IRC.
I havent seen the movie though I want to c it badly!
u can visit its website: www.jinnahthemovie.com
Well, I saw that movie and enjoyed it thoroughly.
I don't really look to movies to form political opinions so I didn't care so much if it was accurate in that respect. (It's understood that there will always be some influence of the writer(s) and director so you can't really trust movies that way.)
I did like the way it was presented....and frankly, it just made me feel good inside about a man that I know little about. It made me appreciate Pakistan just a little bit more. And that's what I wanted to accomplish.
i didnt say the movie was good b/c jinnah was neglected.
i said the movie was good b/c it showed GANDHI’s political stand point profusely --this is an important point in any movie based on a leader.
Jinnah revolves around rati bai…there aren’t many political scenes…
oh and btw, get the gender correct, buddy.

Yeah Alibeta, Jinnah was being served by one fellow a while ago. Unfortunatly, the guy left, and hasn’t showed up again. Hopefully he sent it to a few that they may have it at this time…
