We have heard the idiom many times that “what goes around comesaround” but never thought of it on a serious note. It means whatever you do in this life to other people, whether it is good or bad, the same will return to you, maybe not in the exact same way, but payback is a must.**41:46, whoever does good, it is for his own soul, and whoever does evil, it is against it; and your Lord is not in the least unjust to the servants.**Allah swt has kept everything in this world in a perfect balance, then how can we run away from any evil that we have committed? Allah swt is surely going to take us into account; life cannot be fair to us and unfair to others.
Quran gives us a deep insight and guidance on various aspects of our relationships with one another and with the Creator.
17:09. This Quran guides to the best path, and brings good news to the believers who lead a righteous life, that they have deserved a great recompense.
The guidance is mainly for the benefit of the person who follows it.
16:97. whoever does good whether male or female and he is a believer, We will most certainly make him live a happy life, and We will most certainly give them their reward for the best of what they did.
Therefore we should always act according to the divine guidance in order to live a happy life. Quranic concept of rewards and penalties are not limited to the hereafter only. Any good/evil will have an equal response in this world and the Hereafter. Those who do not work righteous will get the penalty in this world too.
32:21. And indeed We will make them taste of the Penalty of this (life) prior to the supreme Penalty, in order that they may (repent and) return.
However the taste of penalty in this world is mainly to bring the person on right track.
30:41. Disasters have spread throughout the land and sea, because of what the people have committed. He thus lets them taste the consequences of some of their work, that they may return (to the right works).
There are people who put forth great services and work hard for worldly gains. They make discoveries, find cures and build free clinics but they lack faith. Allah swt does not even wrong them. Allah will reward them too. Allah says;
42:20. “Whoever desires the harvest of the Hereafter – We increase for him in his harvest. And whoever desires the harvest of this world – We give him thereof, but there is not for him in the Hereafter any share.”
If you are good & kind to the people, you will get the same kindness from others. Similarly if you are cruel to others then life will not be so kind to you. All your acts in life, expect the same reaction. It may not happen right away but at some point in your life you will get the same feedback.
We should always be kind to everyone and use good words in our dialogue. Allah gives the example of such people as follows;
14:24-25. “Have you not considered how Allah sets forth a parable of a good word (being) like a good tree, whose root is firm and whose branches are in heaven, Yielding its fruit in every season by the permission of its Lord? And Allah sets forth parables for men that they may be mindful”
We come to know from the above verses that the rewards of good words are not limited to particular season/time.
Similarly those who use evil words, they will become like an unstable tree that has no root to keep them firm.
14:26. And the example of the bad word is that of a bad tree chopped at the soil level; it has no roots to keep it standing.
The after effect of rudeness and misbehaviors can easily be seen in our society in shape of instability.
may Allah forgive us for anything we ve wronged with His creature..and may Allah grant them jannat ul firdaws ameen
