Tahufuzat
I keep hearing this on all the political talk shows.
For example, “Humein iss commission ke baray mein kaafi tahufuzat haen”

Re: What does this word mean?
security ... minimum risk
Re: What does this word mean?
But how does it make sense in the context in which it used?
Re: What does this word mean?
Tahafuzat means reservations. As in 'I have reservations with this person'.
Re: What does this word mean?
jsiey ya jis trha guftgu main siasatdn in English;-) politicians use kerty hain yeh laf is ka matlab mujhy tu 'Khadshat" lagta hi ![]()
Re: What does this word mean?
Tahufuzat
I keep hearing this on all the political talk shows. For example, "Humein iss commission ke baray mein kaafi tahufuzat haen"
tahafuzaat means safegaurds/security
that sentence basically means "we have many safegaurds/security measures regarding this commission"
however the sentence isnot very well said in urdu thus it makes one think as if they wanted to say khadshaat/khatraat (doubts/fears) instead of tahafuzaat.
more appropriatley the sentence should have been "humain is commission main kaafi tahafuzaat hasil hain"
Re: What does this word mean?
**taHaffuzaat is the plural of the word taHaffuz which has several meanings depending on it's usage in the sentence spoke. those meanings are:
protections
reservations
securities
safeguards****
the closest meaning of the word in your sentence is *SAFEGUARDS* :)**

Tahufuzat
I keep hearing this on all the political talk shows. For example, "Humein iss commission ke baray mein kaafi tahufuzat haen"
The meaning of this word in the above-mentioned context is "Reservations" as stated by TLK and KKF.
You can say "Adam-Aitamaad".
Tahaffuzat regarding commission means lack of trust and/or fears on the establishment of Commission as it would not be able to serve the purpose it has been made for.
Re: What does this word mean?
Tahufuzat
The most favourite word of Fazlur Rahman :D
Re: What does this word mean?
Exactly!
“Humein iss commission ke baray mein kaafi khadshaat haen” makes perfect sense.
I don’t know why they keep abusing the word tahufuzzat.

waow. so smart ![]()

I think the word "reservations" has no exact translation in Urdu. Maybe 'Aitrazaat" (objections) is close.
But tahufuzaat is definitely not it. tahufuz is security. So tahufuzat can mean safeguards.
It makes absolutely no sense in the way it is used (abused!) all the time.
Re: What does this word mean?
^ Krash if you read the line a bit more deeply then u will know that how tahufuzaat is being used here.
Humein iss commission ke baray mein kaafi tahufuzat haen
Re: What does this word mean?
^^ I am sorry I don't get it.
How is it being used?
How would you translate it into English?
Re: What does this word mean?
^ I honestly dont know how to exactly explain it in words. ok for example a sentence
"humain is ghar ke baare main kaafi maloomat hain" is exactly the same as if you put "maloomat haasil hain"
however whether u do put haasil or not the sentence will make sense anyway.
but for** tahafuzat**---as i said before yes they have not written it properly thats why the sentence is giving the wrong impression.
i'll translate it into english as we have many safegaurds/security measures regarding this commission OR About this commision, we have many safeguards

Doesn't make sense in English either. Who *ha*s safeguards *about *something ?
I think this is just plain and simple case of incorrect usage.
tahufuzzat is just incorrectly used when khadshaat is intended.
Perhaps, at one time the intention was to say that "we need *safeguards regarding this..." "Humain is baray mein tahufuzat *chahyein" .
But now, the word is just commonly misused as "Humain is baray mein tahufuzat hain" which is non-sensical.
Sorry to keep going on and on about this. It has just become a pet peeve of mine.
