Are people supposed to know about kinky merchandize, their relative quality and variety etc, when they aren't even married....and pretend to be oh so religous and halal.

If you live in the West - of course you would know. You can't avoid it. I mean you can physically avoid going into those shops, but even then your friends/co-workers etc might mention it, or you might see an advert on TV. It's difficult to avoid these things when the owners' primary aim is to try to MAKE YOU aware of them!

I wouldn't read too much into it.
