What does the LAW in USA say about incest.

I need some help. My question is very simple. What does the law in USA say about persons involved in incest.

I am only talking about law, and what charges there can be made against the person.

Here is the scenario.

Lets say the girl was involved with the brother. It was happening before she was under 18.

After that she was psychologically down, goes to a pshyciatrist and all that.

Now as it happened b4 she was 18, qanoon kya kehta hai?

If a third person comes in and shows with proof that her brother was involved in this? Is that illegal ? What charges can be made.

Any help would be appreciated.

If the brother was above 18 then I think he can be charged iwth statutory rape, as well as incest charges...

We had this situation in our community long times ago. In fact the sister got pregnant. Both brother and sister were under 18 so no charges were filed but the whole family moved back to their home country after the incident.

I dont' know..... but recently a college professor was arrested and charged with incest for having a 3-year-long affair with his daughter (who was 21 at the start of it). I was reading the comments and they were pretty.....disturbing...

Sick sick people.

I am not sure if I should feel pity or throw up. Either way incest is a crime which is usually punishable with a long prison sentence for the offending (usually older) relative. If the girl was a minor then the boy will get statutory rape. He when found guilty will be labeled a sex offender and may have to register with the database. Additionally you will have limited restrictions to your movement and you will have to inform people when you move into the area of your status.

Criminal Minds does help out a bit.

As Sara said, if the brother was over 18 it would be classed as statuatory rape as well as incest, under 18 it may be 'just' incest. I know this is a bit awkward but if they were both under 18 she would have to prove she didn't consent in which case it would also be rape, otherwise only incest (and something she could also get in trouble for unless she can prove she was forced or coerced into a relationship with him in the first place)..

Btw, are they full brother and sister or half? This sort of thing seems to happen more with half-siblings :(
