i may sound dull…but some Bollywood movies are really great…i mean nice dances, nice music and happy ending!..and above all Amelie!!!you know that french movie! such a happiness treat!:blush:

haha. Hmm well James mamoe, since you’re asking for something practical, I’d say that maybe your friend should find a hobby (or if they already have one) and stick to it to keep their mind focused on that rather than what’s making them sad.

yes a very dear freind of mine have had a deep depression, it was very difficult to help, because she got very very passive, and sometimes she wouldnt admit that she needed help and something was wrong with rest of us but not her. It takes time and it is very toughf and requires a lot of patience . my suggestions is first of all professional help.
what you can do is to be there for that person, lend a shoulder when he/ she wants to cry, listen when that is required, but with balance , dont let the person sink in to all self pitty.
get that person out of the house for a walk, see a movie or what ever the person used to like to do. It is not certain that he or she wants to do that, but insist on doing that.

i don no ..i have never been a great help for ppl who r depressed :frowning: i cant be ne help for neone ..but i know ppl who know how to make others feels better n know how to bring em back to normal ..:hug:..

you can't, i have tried everything but it doesn't work, only time heals.
