What does Kaba Look like inside?

special for PAKISTANIABROAD

Muslims believe in a chain of prophets starting with Adam and including Noah(nuh), Abraham(ibrahim), Ishmael(ismael), Isaac(ishaq), Jacob(yaqub), Joseph(yusuf), Job, Moses(musa), Aaron(haroon), David(daud in urdu and dawud in arabic), Solomon(salman), Elias(iliyas), Jonah, John the Baptist, and Jesus(isa), peace be upon them. ** “Many of them were born in Palestine. Jerusalem is a city in Palestine”.**

In the ninth year of the Prophet’s mission, about 620 AD, Muhammad rose in the middle of the night to visit the Sacred Mosque in Makkah. After a time of worship he fell asleep near the Ka’aba. The angel Gabriel came to him and woke him from his slumber. He led the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, to the edge of the sacred Makkan mosque. Awaiting them was al-Buraq, a white winged beast “whose each stride stretched as far as the eye could see.” Muhammad mounted al-Buraq and sped northwards with Gabriel to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, the Furthest Mosque.

“When they reached Jerusalem the Prophet dismounted and prayed near the Rock. Abraham, Moses, Jesus and other prophets, peace be upon them all, gathered together to pray behind him”. Muhammad was presented a vessel of wine and a vessel of milk. The Prophet chose the milk and Gabriel said, ‘You have chosen the true religion’.

Jews, Chritians and Muslims have same orgin. They go back to the prophet and patriarch Abraham, and their three prophets are directly descended from his sons, Muhammad from the elder son Ishmael, and Moses and Jesus from the younger son Isaac. Abraham established the settlement which today is the city of Makkah, and built the Ka’ba towards which all Muslims turn when they pray.

I didn't understand CE. What is a CE?
[/quote]

CE = Common Era, used to denote time.

A.D. translates into the Year of our Lord.. and definitely Jesus wasn't our Lord, he was just a messenger of God.

Therefore I prefer to use CE instead.

Thanks for the 'special', I am very well aware of the geneology of prophets that were sent to revive the message of Islam.

I'm also aware of the history 'as taught by Hadiths' of the Prophet's journey to Al-Aqsa and tales of wine and milk and Barraq's etc.

My question still remains:

Did previous generations 'turn towards' Mecca?

If not then where did they turn to and why?

If they turned towards Jerusalem, was it because prophets were born there?

Did Muslims initially turn towards Jerusalem? And why? For the same reason as above?

Muslims then change towards Mecca. However Christian historical records don't see Mecca as a trade city developing at least 100 years after the advent of Islam.

What's the evidence to counter their allegations? Old maps (not the one posted as shows Mecca and Madina by their names as we know them today) will help.
