It used to be betrayal for me but not any more. I don't take friends out of my life any more. I feel like I can take anything..lol. The only people I stay away from are those who are consistently very negative and try to put me down in indirect ways.

betrayal. i had a friend who became convinced, obsessed even, with the fact that I liked him ( I did...but not the point). To embarass me (he confessed this to a mutual friend), he went through my phone/emails when I was praying in the other room and then tried to treat me like **** for a day or two. I found out that he did it and cut him out. 4 years later and we're basically dead to each other.

Damn, that sounds messed up. That's the kind of person, you cut out of your life the minute you sniff trouble.

yeah. the signs were there but up till that point, I wasn't someone that burned bridges. That changed after that incident and now I feel no guilt for cutting out negative, toxic people. If they bring out the worst in you, it's time to end the friendship/relationship

This is interesting actually.
Lately, I have found that I am friendly with almost everyone but only share personal details or confide in a select few individuals. I believe that I will never have to do anything to hurt or get back at someone for wronging me. Because Allah swt knows all. If you hurt anyone...trust me...He knows and He will make you pay. Maybe not right away but it will catch up.
I have a friend who I know says rubbish about me behind my back, she lies about almost everything that comes out of her mouth...literally. Everyone knows this about her. People have stopped trusting her and no one gets involved in her personal life anymore or talks to her about their own.
She's fun company though. So she might come along for the heck of it but that's about it.
