These days people stress the importance of being mentally compatible with a person…but what does that truly mean? How do you know?
In our parents time there really was no such thing but their marriages have worked out really well for the most part.
How do you determine if someone is compatible with you?
Re: What does it mean to be Compatible?
This is too general a question
Re: What does it mean to be Compatible?
When searching for a spouse, it is beneficial to search for somebody who is religiously, morally, socially and financially compatible:-
- Do your religious views match?
- Do you have similar family backgrounds/lifestyles/hobbies?
- How do you both compare financially?
I think our parents made many compromises which helped them through their marriages; some of which many would not be willing to compromise on today.
Re: What does it mean to be Compatible?
Being compatible to me means being like-minded, having similar temperament, and gradually building tolerance for each others' differences in opinions/behaviour.
You don't have to be the same age group or same generation to be compatible. It just means that you get along well, your outlook on life and others is similar, you aren't easily irritated by each other, etc.
