I know in some Scandinavian countries such as Finland and parts of Alaska where sun does not set during summer. What does Islam says about such places?

DUBAI: Muslims living in the world’s tallest tower will have to wait even longer to break their fast during the holy month of Ramazan.

Mohammed al-Qubaisi, Dubai’s top Muslim cleric, said on Sunday that Burj Khalifa residents living above the 80th floor should wait two additional minutes to break their dawn-to-dusk fast while those above the 150th floor must wait three extra minutes because they will be able to see the sun longer than those on the ground.

The half-mile high tower has 160 habitable floors. Al-Qubaisi said the decree is similar to those relating to Muslims traveling on airplanes, and harkens back to a time when people living in the mountains broke their fast after those at lower elevations.

In places where the sun does not set the sun will make a U-shaped curve in the sky near but just above the horizon … and that should be calculated accordingly … just like it is for prayer … so when the angle of decent reaches a certain rate then one assumes maghrib, and when the sun comes back to another point in altitude then fast starts again. If you want a more detailed answer then give me the latitude and longitude readings of the location. And I’ll try to convert that in to times - I used to have a calculator that worked in DOS but since Windows has been upgraded I need some emulators to run it …
