What does General Musharraf have in common with George Bush

…Both have defied the Supreme Courts of their own country…

Mush has sacked the Supreme Court and reshaped it to his own liking…sounds like what a dictator would do …Right?

Bush who was appointed because of a Supreme Court decision…thinks his definition of who is Human and who is not human(enemy combatant) can prevail…because he has the power to make that decision…

also sounds like a dictator …Right?

I ask what Good is a Democracy when its leaders think they are above the constitution…:frowning:

Re: What does General Musharraf have in common with George Bush

Musharraf gave media more freedom than Bush.

Re: What does General Musharraf have in common with George Bush

^ This is no place for jokes Robert. How many times have journalists been beaten up ruthlessly, or bullets sprayed at CNN headquarters? Bush doesnt control the media, like how Musharraf was trying to do so, shutting off or banning channels. People in the west were laughing at the way that two bit senile bhuda was confronting the media.

Re: What does General Musharraf have in common with George Bush

Spock, US has a permenant silent censorship that is applicable on all media. You can talk about a president's BJ in graphic details but you can't talk about CIA's criminal operations at home and abroad.

Mush is just another gathiya dictator. Would have been ordinary, until he surpassed Zia in 2007. He broke almost every record set by military and their *******ized political dictators.

Smooth-guy bhaijan. You are absolutely right. No previous military leader has given the record breaking economic growth, as seen under the great leadership of Great President Musharaf. :k:

I ask, what good is a democracy, when the people vote for the most corrupt leaders alive. In other words, voting to tear the country apart.

Re: What does General Musharraf have in common with George Bush

Both are liars.

You are still disillusioned by the dollar poured after 9/11? Even ex government’s supporters have started to admit the currency handling dispite of numerous warn ings from state bank.

You must be talking about thousands of factories, millions of job oppertunties, overwhelming agricultural growth and dozens of power generation plants that previous government has established.

Ordinary people like me look at the high growth rate because of US aid and remit money that resulted in millions of cell phone subscribers, hundreds and thousands of new cars on roads, numerous mortgage schemes and the thousands of jobs in banks and financial sectors. The whole circulation of money at its best. No new production/manufacturing units, no real foundation for the economy. The gift of the best financial expert.

LOL, are you kidding me? Pakistanis with internet access, some English skills etc. are the elite of the country, which includes everyone on this forum.

Re: What does General Musharraf have in common with George Bush

They both studder and have that cheezy smile when lying?

Even in Democracy like USA it is the Electoral College that elects the President and not the Majority of Citizen Voters......................

good example George Bush was elected by this Electoral College even though he lost the election 49% to Gore's 51%.

What does that have to do with Pakistan?

Do you think the electoral college would've elected Bush if his votes were less than 25%, and Al Gore's over 75% ?

You must ask the dictators who backed down on the cases against the very same corrupt people you are talking about.

:)...Yes Pakistan is totally "Nirala" in the so called democracy it practices...Tribal Leaders no matter how good bad or ugly they may be... have the power...........we can not blame the leaders if we ourselves elect them.......except the Army Generals.......and they each had their own reasons to take over.....

Ayub Khan took over becuase Sikander Mirza was allowing the Khan of Kalat to sell Kalat to Iran.

Zia ul Haq (hand picked by Bhutto himself) took over from Bhutto and we all know why..

Musharraf (hand picked by Nawaz himself) hi-jacked Pakistan calling himself "Ali Baba" but returned Pakistan back to the 40 thieves....:biggthumb

and to answer your question about Bush's selection....no! he would not be but in the USA any thing over 5 or 6% margin is considered a landslide...:)
