The Babi dynasty was founded in 1735 by Muhammed Sher Babi (ruled 1748–1758). The last Nawab of Junagadh declared independence in 1947. Babi pathans are the pure most blood line of yusufzai pashtun’s residing in india,Pakistan,Afghanistan and different parts of the world.
The Babi are supposedly a clan of the Yusufzai tribe of Pashtuns,[1] descended specifically from the tribe’s Usmankhel sept. They entered India from Afghanistan under the leadership of Usman Khan Babi, a follower of the Mughal emperor Humayun. Usman’s son, Sher Khan Babi, arrived in Kathiawar in the train of Prince Murad Baksh, the Imperial Viceroy.[2]
The Babi Pathans claim to be Yousafzais, who arrived in Gujarat during the rule of Mahmud Begada. After the collapse of the Mughal Empire, the Babi were involved in a struggle with the Maratha Gaekwads for the control of Gujarat. While the Maratha were successful in establishing overall control over Gujarat, the Babi remained masters of the princely states of Junagadh, Radhanpur, and Mangrol.
Babi descendants are found throughout north Gujarat and Saurashtra. Famous Bollywood actress Parveen Babi was of Babi lineage, but most Babi, barring the princely lineages, are in modest circumstances. Many are petty landowners, but there is marked urbanization among the Babi. The Babi are endogamous, but there are cases of marriages with the Chauhan and Behlim communities, and they accept daughters from the Shaikhs and Sunni Bohras.[3]
Members of this dynasty ruled over the princely states of Junagadh, Radhanpur and Balasinor, as well as the small states of Bantva Manavadar and Sardargarh.

she was from JunagaRh and her ancestors were Nawabs of JunagaRh. she was a paThaan.

btw, there was a Babi Dynasty in JunagaRh. may be she belonged to members of that dynasty.

This Shahi Khandan was quite conservative and even grandmother of Parveen babi didn’t visit any home, in the presence of their male family members. This is a complete contrast to the position, when Parveen Babi joined film Industry. Once she was dropped from a movie and she complained about the director with Director’s association. That director abruptly replied ‘main aisi aurat ko film main nahin le sakta, jis ko ye pata na ho…’… aage censor hai

I dont know whether you have heard it from some where or its your creative mind speaking but they were called babis even before they migrated to hindostan. Full name is babi khel and its one of the branch of yousafzais

I’ve read that in a book ‘Wo Warq tha dil ki kitaab ka’ by Muhammad Iqbal Diwan and the writer got immense knowledge of history and film industry. So, its definitely not a mde up thing that Babis were darbans of Mughals. There might be something behind this statement.

@muqawwee123 and i have read tons of books on history of afghans, i can even recommend it to you. Urdu books often cite sources and the one about film industry shouldnt be taken seriously. Many times this type of speculation makes no sense and has no historical basis. For example, on the same lines, there is speculation that pathan word might have derived from patna city,...I already told you that the original name of tribe in its original homeland is babi khel, so baab/darban ko goli maro. The writers of urdu books like this do little research. If he has mentioned any source for his claim in his book, share it with me.

Its not about film industry, but the writer has not quoted any source (though normally, he refers to book and writer while making any reference).
