Things you don’t really need but you still buy them and you buy them in excess quantity. Please don’t list things like Eid shopping, which you do once or twice a year. I am talking about stuff you buy regularly that you shouldn’t really be buying. You know it’s nearly wasteful but you still buy it.
For me, it’s scented candles, essential oils, air fresheners, and White bedding. Basically, it’s stuff that makes my living space smell good and look clean. Strangely enough, I don’t like perfumes for myself. I am a lover of clean smell that is not overwhelming. So what is your wasteful obsession?
Aahh.. where should i start from. I'm so careless as far as money goes, waste it pretty much everywhere. Not that i'm a richie rich ofcourse but just being habitual. There is no one category but I think more spendings are on tools and utilities here n there.
But one thing is helping for sure. I've given walmart the status of my prioritized store so no matter how much u spend it's still gonna less than other lavish ones :)
I’m contemplating a Chanel bag.
I’ve got the money, I’ve saved and cut down allot fo other places but I like the chunk of change sitting around. I also like the bag - I mean come on its a Chanel right?! My elder bahoo will inherit it.
I used to spend on stupid things tbh....like fashion accessories and shoes and clothes etc. My shopping habits changed after moving to Middle East...now I spend the same amount of money but it's once in a month or so on something more valuable. Like I can wear an old pair of jeans and t and flats and rock it with a designer bag and gold jewelry. So all in all i've reduced the quantity of my shopping by increasing the quality of goods. But this doesn't answer your question so I'd say I like buying bookmarks and fridge magnets from places I visit.

:O ...
Video games and Movies. Compared to where the money go, they take the cake. I wouldn't generally consider it money being wasted but I get told that everyday. Oh well. Other than that it's installing tech stuff around home. Nest and stuff, that no one fully uses :(

I think this change comes with age. When you go from being a girl to a woman.
Overvalued stocks. @SID from New York, Utilities are a crowded investment, with folks flocking to them for higher yields. While they yield circa 3.5 pct, the yield is much lower than the 5 to 6 pct one can expect when these babies are not overvalued.
My suggestion for this particular scenario - throw these babies out with the bath water.
I purchase gift items for no reason. If I like something then I purchase it right away. I won't call it waste though because its given to friends or family eventually.
For myself i end up spending all money on high heels (within budget obviously)
A good way to curb waste is to look at impact on environment. Decreasing our carbon footprint would be our biggest contribution - especially to the poor.
