I wanted to be a cop at one point in my life. It would have been so cool to be a NYPD cop. I could get free cart food and donuts. Dang!

Yes,and he had become a parody of himself by then. If you wanna see some good acting and grittier drama, watch that first season of NYPD Blue, a far superior show then the joke that was Horatio Crane saying cheesy one liners and removing and putting his sunglasses on.

Aren’t all cop dramas about cheesiness and thuggish manliness?

I only watch Castle (nathan fillion) and grimm, for the supernatural angle, as I can’t really stand the law and order type shows. I have even lost interest in The Following recently.

So, how exactly do you connote " not being up for danger"?

A small town native comparing the perilous intensity of an occupation in a big city consisting of multifarious groups and races to that of her own? It is quite a natural consideration, even if surreptitiously done in the head.

This was not intended to be a personal thread. Just wanted to know what everyone thinks at a large scale.
