What do you think about a Valentine’s Day wedding?

My brother is thinking about a Valentine’s Day wedding. It is his birthday and his engagement anniversary as well. I personally think it would be difficult for many people to turn up as they most probably would have plans for the night.

Bro says none of the desi crowd would give up an opportunity to attend a wedding as the happening is rare where we live but still.

So, what do you think about a Valentine’s Day wedding? Is it be a good idea?
Will you go to a wedding on Vday if invited?

Re: What do you think about a Valentine’s Day wedding?

I would definitely go! Esp if it was a close friend or a family wedding. I think everyone will be willing to give up one V-day, it's not too much to ask. Esp as you said it's a rarity where you live (where do you iive, btw), so most ppl probably don't have plans anyway.

That said, I know most ppl think that it's super romantic to get married on v-day, but I think it's a total rip-off!!! After some years of marriage, there are only a few days in the year where a girl will be pampered with love, attention, and presents - anniversary, v-day, birthday. Do not allow your hubby to bundle them!

I have always said that I would never get married near vday or my bday, but my wedding is 2 weeks before my bday. Actually the best date that was working to accommodate everyone was 2 days before my bday. I refused! But I have made such a big deal about it (just btwn me and him) that I don't think hubby will ever try to package our anniversary and my bday :)

No offense it sounds kinda lame....its just a bloody day, I don't get why people treat it like its Eid or something and why revolve one of the biggest things of your life around it?

If there was a wedding on V-day I would definitely go.

I agree with Khawa, he needs to space things out! There's lots of other days in the year to have a wedding on.

That said, if he's determined, I think it could be cute so long as he didn't end up having something too theme-y/cheesy with pink and red hearts floating everywhere.

Re: What do you think about a Valentine’s Day wedding?

nah, i wudnt like a wedding on v-day.....its suppose to be MY DAY..haha i dont want to share it with a public holiday :D

if i was invited to a wedding on v-day and i had to go i wud go.....

Re: What do you think about a Valentine’s Day wedding?

He already has his birthday, valentines day (which I'm assuming he plans on celebrating after marriage) and engagement (although this is probably not going to be celebrated) on the same day; do you brother and his fiance really want to have so many special days on one day? It might be problematic in the future.

To answer your actual question lol: I would attend a wedding on Vday.
