So this question goes to all Ladies and gentlemen. In a gathering What are topics that you usually talk about?
What are the topics that you refrain from talking about?
What are the topics you would like to talk about?
Do tell us with relevance to the age group/ethnicity/status etc of the people in the gathering.
For instance in a gathering with Pakistanis the topics may differ a little as compared to a gathering with goras .
In a gathering with elderly people the topics may differ as compared to in a gathering with people in their 20’s.
and there is nothing you would even like to talk about jalpari ?
For me if its cousins…then We talk abt
our school/uni days..
our common school/uni frnds
about our teachers and
the situation of our school..
then abt problems we face…
then we discuss a lil abt the future…
and abt our khandaan etc etc
If frnds then we discuss…
school/uni/work and
our frnds…and
our problems…and
sometimes abt fashion…
If I am sitting with my chacha’s …then I prefer to sit quietly and listen…I :jano: sitting with chacha’s and me being the only girl who likes their discussions abt business and politics and work..i am usually the only one sitting with them.
If in a party where the only person I know(the host) is busy with other guests I talk abt general stuff..like how r u..where r u from…for how long hv u been here…do u like it here …and wht do you do..and wht I do etc etc
But The gatherings I would like are the ones that are informative…a gathering where I would observe quietly and experts in fields such as IT/Business?economics/art/Philosophy and people who have traveled a lot sit and share their experiences.***
friends ..then i d talk about anything and everything ..
not frends ..then i d limit my convo to hello hi how are you and where ya from and what brings you here ..
if its family ..then .. i d stay quiet ..never know i might say something ..then back fire on me later on lol
Number one topic i will talk about in my social gatherings with friends is Pakistan and it’s state and how to improve my country…
Even among Gorras i constantly speak of my homeland and tell them it is home not to terrorists but a complicated and ancient system of life and that it is a modern country not some medieval one… and that our nations problems are caused by their nations and that our problems are thier problems too.
Secondly i hate talking about other people and backbiting which is a common thing among fellow Pakistanis and the young men always start talking about the ladies and by which time i excuse myself and tell them i have other duties as a married man.
Finally i love talking about martial arts, being a man of martial blood it’s hard not to talk about fighting and killing… besides knowing my pasts i will admit there is a joy to such skills in life… a sort of feral joy. May Allah forgive me for it.

What about the goras....do they only listen to you talk about Pakistan?Or do they discuss other topics too with you besides Pakistan and martial art?

^ Gorras speak of their own country and we share our knowledge on customs beliefs and so on...
Also it is great for comparring and sorting out differences... a lot of people say integrate.. but integration is stupid Gorras cannot be like us and we cannot be like them nor is there any need to be however talking about one anothers good and bad points helps us to come together and learn mutual respect.
Gorras have thier own distinct martial arts, and ours are very different... in Europe they are foccused more on cadenced warfare and fighting... where one man fights as a group or team and each member has a special skill....
My own arts rely on high level training of single combat and cadenced fighting is not a main focus on the traditional aspects.
The differnces in styles and attitudes are miles apart but both styles work well and have thier good and bad points.
I talk about whatever the person i’m with wants to talk about, but i try to steer discussions towards topics that can be considered of mutual interest.
So that’s mainly stuff like gossip, daal stirring, star plus dramas, lawn material etc and so forth.
and when ur travelling alone and need to break the ice, how would u?
I think i would start with a hello or hi...and talk abt the place we r in....how pretty it is...or abt its service..strik a convo like that then ask from where r u and wht do u do etc etc
