Where was this picture taken.. seems like the holy Ka’aba, but some of the women have covered their face so I guess it cant be, so now Im guessing Iran maybe?? Anyhow, I think its nice when women pray. In Pakistan, one rarely see’s woman going to the mosque(except to the ancient ones like Badsha-mosque, Wazir Khan, few exceptions like Faisal,Defense mosque or to Holy Shrines-more on tour trips) In fact, in the recent mosques that they build in Pakistan, they dont even include a woman’s section and if u ask the majid administration or people in Pakistan(6/10 majority but not all)in general they state that its better for women to stay home and pray there so they dont even bother including them in plans.. I think has to do more with economics + lack of education/civic sense cuz they keep building these small, plain, poorly constructed, often tacky uninspiring mini-mosques at every 1 km intervals that never have enough room! rather than bring the community together, it divides them more as they go to different mosque and then top it off by having competitions over the ‘Azan-Namaz’ five times a day leading to an hour long haunting echo azam that has lost its charm! anyhow, back to the female sections: I think its a shame, talk about a boring and restricting type of viewpoint on Islam. It seems un-natural, plus if anyone needs to observe pardah in Pakistan, its the men cuz they sure do google a lot:meeno: Maybe with more women around they would behave more civilized and respectful cuz currently without them around there like animals!
