bareek kata hua pyaaz...very very thin...squish it and wash it with water then squeeze lemon on it, sprinkle salt...and mix
then a firm tomato...cut thinly...
then take some coriander and cut it finely and mix it
then some green chillis, cut up and mix
and then mix it all
this goes well with desi food :D
optonal: finely cut radish [mooli] , freshly cut mint
cucumber and carrot dont go with this
sometimes i just cut everything up together motay motay: carrots, mooli, tamatar, kheera, pyaaz, band gobi and slices of lemon :D

Re: What do you put in your salad?
My salads are different according to the day and what's in the fridge.
Usually it depends on eth kids of salad available - there are about 20 types of lettuce available at different times in the year. And then there are the usual salad fixings - carrots, cucumbers, radishes, tomatoes, spring onions, chives, celery, etc etc.
I use sprouts often - bean sprouts, lentil sprouts and even sprouted methi. Also I use seeds at times - raw unseasoned sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, sometimes slivered almonds or walnut pieces. Olives are good too. Finely sliced sun dried tomatoes add flavour as do capers. You can use cold boiled green beans or other types of beans. Thawed tender frozen peas are yum. Cold sliced boiled potatoes. Choose a different combination evey time. Your imagination is the limit.
Most of the time a very simple dressing - olive oil and balsamic vinegar with salt - enhances the flavour of the ingrdients. For a few salads you can add extra stuff - experiment!
