What do you miss most about the Summer/Winter Vacations in Pakistan:
Here is my list:
In Winters
I miss all of the family sitting near a heater and eating mooing phali together and talking in Razaaiyaan.
I miss winter days sitting in the sun eating Kinoos with sarr peh tailh(oil)…used to drip down from the sides of the head after sitting in the sun:D
Ganneh ka Juice…waise is it avvvlaible in Summer or winters:hmmm:
In Summers:
I miss the time we all spent together telling stories about Jins churailain and snakes…When there was Load Shedding(power outage)…I am still the best story teller in the family…used to scare baby cousins and siblings a laaaat:dixsi:
the Late late nights and waking up in the afternoon after the umpteenth tries of ami
A lot of the family used to visit and we (the kids) used to end up sleeping in the TV Lounge ..all the cousins and such

In summer - a week or two in Murree at the Air Force guesthouse, hiking, pakoras, telling jinn stories, just spending time with the family in a relaxing setting....

In the Summer the travelling around to different places to do site seeing e.g. going to Murree and Cherat. Drinking milkshakes and cold coffee. Eating steaks and going to Pizza Hut with the whole extended family. Playing cards and watching films with my cousins all night. Etc etc....

ASK99 you made me miss pakistan so much but pakistan is not same . the simple life is no where anymore .I went to pakistan last year and I realized things have changed so much. I feel we had a great time back then but sadly no fun and simple life anymore.

loooong afternoons spent gupshupping with siblings and parents
evening chai being an event, where some family or friends always drop by
pigging out on mangoes (yum!)
sweet, intoxicating smell of motia flowers in the evening, one sniff and it brings soooooo much nostalgia
the rush of fond memories when meeting old friends and family after a darn long time
the absolute pleasure of watching my kids bond with their roots and kin, grandparents, cousins, uncles, aunts...so much undivided and unselfish love being showered on all of us
a sense of belonging when i look around
something i don't look fwd to is getting choked up with sentimentality each and every time its time to return, taking a last look back at the smiling faces full of love and hoping and praying fervently to see them standing right there when i return next time...

Winters:
Sitting in the lawn and staring at mom while she peeled us all our kinoos.
My sister pulling out carrots from mom's kitchen garden way before they were ready.
My mom giving gaali to my sister. Then getting more kinoos.
Going for a walk with mom and dad in the evening and stopping by for bhuttey.
Siting in razai and watching a stupid movie where mom and I would be snoring in 15 minutes while dad and sister watched the entire thing then had a discussion over a cup of hot milk. Mom waking up in the middle of the movie and asking "kya hua."
Summers:
My deodorant melting.
Nosebleeds.
Having friends over for lunch.... and then dinner. Getting yelled at by mom.
Dad waking us at 6am for swimming. Me wanting to sunao him but keeping shut and waiting to be old enough to be out of the house.
Now:
Missing every bit of my life and thanking Allah for all the good times and simple pleasures.

Taya jee, Tai jee, Phupu, uncles, n sum local pplz'z ghap ghap in the front ov our Home.

Trees n specially Plants ov my home :(
n the most missin memorin is "spendin days like a Princess" :( :(
In winter:
Ghar k samne beth k suraj ki dhoop main Maltey khana (oranges)
sitting in lawn wid Blanket hahaha ( Aww how silly was that )
Lubed the Sardi ov Pakistan..
open sandles main roamin around the shoppin malls :)
Eating out wid cousinz...
Ghap shaap wid Cousinz which i miss the most...

summer holidays..Visiting grandparents...sneaking out in the afternoons to go out cycling/playing with cousins/friends while our mothers were taking an afternoon nap. The rona-dhona of summer homework, not a big fan of that. and of course Pakistani summer fruits, absolutely amazing!
Winter holidays weren't that long 15 days or so but the best part was no-home work. I like fog and miss our walks and playing hide-n-seek in fog.
I miss PAkistan now And I miss my grandparents,sleep over in cousin's house and many things we used to do in summer like shopping,falooda, eating at chaat corners,yummy36 ice creams,visiting villages.
…dont start me off on that subject…I miss the simple life there:bummer:
