What do you make of this question...

I once went to a book auction and came upon a book titled “The Way of the Sufi”, the author was a 16th or 17th century saint himself…

In it, he asks a question regarding the spread of Faith and the methodology applied to it…

The question is (Paraphrased by me):

"If a Muslim comes upon a village, where everyone goes around naked and does not allow access to those who are not nude…

In holding the spreading of the Word as foremost, shouldn’t the Sufi shed his clothes and start spreading the word of God leaving his shame aside?"

Now, initially as a one time Sufi myself, I firmly believed that the shedding of the clothes would be necessary…

But after having met my Wahabbi brothers (May Allah bless them), I realized what a bunch of croc this question is…

If such was the reason, why were Hz. LuT :as:'s people destroyed?

Why did Hz. Musa :as: become a wanderer from a prince?

Islam is the only religion that doesn’t follow the maxim of ‘When in Rome, do as the Romans do…’…

So, to those following the Sufistic way, beware…It is a grievous innovation and innovation is a grievous sin with grievous punishments…Honest…

Re: What do you make of this question…

Lajawab, don’t you honestly think that scaring kafirs with your very different way of living as the case of this naked ethny is the most efficient way to convert them to Islam? Do you think Islam must be confined to your wahabbi brothers or spread around with love and understanding?

Re: What do you make of this question...

Dont scare non muslims with your unusual ways, even muslims cant save themselves from bad things now a days, rangeen duniya always attracts people. then how can non muslims listen to totallly obnoxious people. islam is a moderate religion. deen bhi duniya bhi.

Re: What do you make of this question...

In my view there is always a way to get closer to the people without crossing the limits and that is what Prophet Lut (A.s) and others were doing.

Re: What do you make of this question…

Yeah, but what takes precedence? Deen or Duniya…

Re: What do you make of this question...

Lajawab, it goes without saying that Sufism does not promote anything that conflicts with the Islamic Shariah. The sole purpose of Sufism is to grasp the Shariah better. I am not sure which Sufi Saint you are referring to. Can you give the name please? and the reference to this text?

If that Sufi Saint said what you are saying then he is a fake and liar.

Re: What do you make of this question...

that is a trick amongst the tricks of shaytan to propose these hypothetical questions that are rather unusual and are not bound to occur, and after presenting these hypothetical situations, the answers which are suggested only serve the purpose of the deviant questioner. i once heard a mauli reciting from a sufi book that one soofi sheikh had many visitors to him during ramadhan and they were praising him and stuff, so he thought that he was being taken away from Allah so he started eating, and people saw him eating during ramadhan so they left him. so the sheikh was happy that he was alone and could go back to worship. that is the kind of pathetic logic ppl have and the sheikh mentioned above probably would have agreed with the incident i mentioned....
