What do you OR would you look for in an Art piece when you decide to buy it?

Do you look for overall color combination? The meaning hidden in the work? Or the price of the piece?

For me, price matters too as I wouldn’t be willing to spend millions on a single work but most importantly the contents and colors matter most. The contents are important because it should have something in it which I can look at and ponder over and think about. The colors matter to me because I have certain colors which I definitely like in an art piece and there are certain colors which I cannot stand unless they are used in less quantity.

I cannot say which factor I look for more over the other but I would put it at 50/50. What about you?

What do you look for in a painting: Landscape/Seascape, shapes/pattern, depiction of human beings etc?

the creativity and the purpose behind it, i mean, why did the person create such thing, the reason behind it.

It Would depend on what type of Art i was interested in buying

but getnnerally the price is what i would look at first like you said HHL i wouldnt like to pay millions on a piece which is very small

I definetly look for the hidden meaning and i like abstract art specially wid black in it....n human figures.....n when am buying em ofcourse i look at the price too waisay i prefer painting myself rather then buying i hope i will have an exhib one day :D hahaha

I look for the colors, expression of the piece, no matter how odd it looks.

pata nahi Q kharidein ....hummm waqee sochnay ki baat hay, khair daikhain ge kal sari paintings or kuch yahan post bhi kar dain ge. phir aap batao ke un main kharidnay wali koi bat thi keh nahi.

For some reason, dabbay attracts me - I am not much into sceneries nor flowers lovey dovey ones - its the boxes/angles/stripes type of things I like.

right now, how it goes with the color scheme of the area i want it to go in :p the only exception is a thing that my brother made in like grade 5 which i forced to match with the color scheme of my room :p
