What do you feel when you think about losing a loved one like mother, father, child,

I feel very awkward & hope it never happens. Have you lost a loved one? How are you coping?
I imagine the feeling as being unbearable pain.

I don't have to imagine losing a loved one. I actually lost a loved one, 6 months ago. the pain never goes, but u learn to live with it.

life goes on but true the pain never go away ..

Maybe we can start a grief support group here! Worse than the loss itself is when one does not have somebody to share the grief and loss with. People would rathar not hear of it, and say cliche stuff like "Life has to go on", "it was meant to happen, live with it", " Move on" etc. All this does not really help. It is important to acknowledge the pain and make peace with the fact rathar than ignore .

a grief support group ? it wont be any help i guess...cz all of us (or me) living a normal life n just coping with the pain...it is a realitey of life n somehow all of us have to accepet it ..when ppl say thing like life has to go on n move on then mostly its not cz they dont understand us or try to ignore but what i feel is kay most of the time ppl dont have anything to say to make others feel better .:)

Re: What do you feel when you think about losing a loved one like mother, father, child,

In some ways I count myself very lucky because in all my years so far, I havent suffered loss of a dearly loved one. But in recent months, my dad has been battling lung cancer which is severely advanced and his time is short. I cant begin to explain the impact of this, esp since its my dad who is the strongest person I've ever met. It hits you like a freight train and doesnt stop. I thought he was invincible and realizing that everyone, including him, has to face mortality is just the most painful thing.

It's probably the most scariest thought. It's not something that I think of everyday. but sometimes, it just hits you. You see your parents aging, and there's nothing that we can do about it. Maybe even they don't realize or see it coming, but as thier child you see it happen. But what's even sadder or maybe just the truth of life is that eventually you move on. My dadi, was prolly the closest person to me and her death was something that just never occured to me. She died. And I am still living, doing everything the same way. Eventhough, it feels like something big is missing at times. Humans are like that i guess....
