Re: What do you feel bad spending money on in the wedding
^ I didn't know people opted out of a wedding videographer. I definitely think pics are more important than the video but I would really want to have my wedding professionally taped. I know I sound dumb but having it on tape just seems more real to me, whereas pics are just a snapshot of the day.
I think I would feel bad if I spend too much on my wedding outfit. I am splurging on everything but I just don't see the point of having a super expensive outfit which I will only wear once. I honestly want an outfit for less than 1200!

august, dont worry, you can get something decent in that price range from a nice boutique!
Re: What do you feel bad spending money on in the wedding
I feel bad about the amount of money my parents spent on gifts for my hubby's entire family - every uncle, aunt etc received outfits. I think it would have been enough just to give gifts to my MIL, FIL and 2 SILs.
It just seems unecessary to me, especially since my in-laws are so nice and didnt want any of it. Maybe i feel this way since i have other sisters that will be gettin married in the next few years and i can just see the costs spiralling out of control coz my parents will want to give each daughter the same

august, have hope! mine was $1150.
I forgot the name of the road, but it’s the infamous road with all the invitation shops near Saddar. The one that I liked the program booklet was called ‘Designer Invitations’ or something like that. It was on the main road.
I ordered my invitations from India, from a website Indian Wedding Cards & Wedding Invitations, Scroll Invitation Cards India
1 yr before I was getting married, I used to browse online for wedding invites and I read on their website that I can order samples and the guy ships 3 samples of your choice, and pays for shipping from India. It was so early on in the wedding process that I just wanted to get a feel of invitations. So I ordered them and I thought, this is probably just a marketing gimmick but I received them 2 weeks later! I ordered 2 scroll invitations and the yellow/mustard one that I eventually ordered. I took them with me to Pakistan and everyone decided to go with the yellow one. I took them around to so many shops in khi, everyone said it just can’t be done. So I ended up getting them from the website. My dad was constantly on the phone with the guy, Parekh in India trying to make sure everything is correct on the invites and also cuz there were so many issues trying to get them to khi. They went from Delhi, to Dubai, to Lahore to Karachi.
This website is pretty legit and they were extremely professional and answered all of my questions the same day via email. I ordered the second card on the site:

Aww thanks guys! I went to Eastern today and I really liked the lady. She had some gorgeous fabric and kaam for around 1400. I really liked her bridals so I might go with her. I am still going to check out Oriental, Jamayz and Abida Qureshi though.
Re: What do you feel bad spending money on in the wedding
Okay - so upon reflection, even though I was totally within budget etc, I do wish that I had spent less money on my wedding attire.
Because at the end of the day, I wore them once, and now they sit in my closet. Taking up oodles of space, never to see the light of day again. I mean, the are so heavy that there is no way I could wear them to someone else's wedding (that would just be disrespectful) and there aren't very many other occasions that require formal eastern wear.
Don't get me wrong - I totally loved all my gowns, and was happy as a clam being the queen/princess for the events..... but I guess that in hindsight, it just doesn't seem like a very practical allocation of resources.
Oh well - I LOOOVED my wedding and had a blast, so it's not really that much of a regret. :D
