I wish someone would talk to me in Urdu. The only language strangers would speak to me is Spanish. I have to explain to them that I don’t know Spanish.

Why? what’s wrong with Arabs? I have had people come up to me and start talking in Arabic or Persian too. I have also had old people, mainly Sikh talk to me in Punjabi. Unfortunately I don’t know how to speak in Punjabi. I try though from what I know from songs lol. I bet they laugh in their heart hearing my Punjabi + Urdu + English mixture.

I have had the same happen to me in Toronto. Guy just comes up and starts in Spanish. Hubby said the poor guy didn’t know when he passed the border and just kept on going till it got too cold to go any further…so racist he is.

Some mexicans once asked me for a metro card and i said “No hablo esponyola” and he contained his smile because I said it in a crap accent. Then he goes, “Es usted indiano?” and im like “no, pakistano” and then he left.

Might as well learn Spanish if we’re gonna live here.
Because they are gonna take back Texas, it’s just a matter of time.
Oh please take Texas back, and in bonus we will throw in Alabama, Mississippi, Arkansas, Oklahoma, as well

Well i would reply to them in urdu and wont hesitate or try to move away quickly unless they look insane. Just like when some one asks me something in English i answer them?

Did it ever occur to you she might be trying to talk to people:
1- Who belong to South India (such as Kerala).
God forbid if they ever speak any ‘Urdu’. That will mean they will have to pray extra for their “sin”. 
2- Some Indians and asks… if he/she speaks Urdu? (Instead of Hindi).
Tuaba tuaba. She deserves to be treated with complete silence.
Say the majic word “Hindi” and then she will be gladly responded. 
3- Who belong to now, Bangladesh.
4- Who are actually Non-desis or Whites just came out of tanning booth?

Well, this place is free right now. Can’t beat free, can you? Even Oklahoma can’t. Nothing like a parent bankrolling you. If it were up to me I’d never move out.

i will surely reply back in urdu! love my language!!! i am comfortable with both english and urdu. reminds me of something that happened last week- my mum’s cousin (my mamoo) was visiting from dubai. i received him from the airport and spoke in english a little and then urdu came naturally to me! he was soooo surprised that i can speak urdu well. he too then got comfortable and we spoke in urdu all the way in this english speaking city!
