They kinda just want to satiate their ego and and seek “revenge” because they are being petty?
It’s a matter of honesty vs dishonesty and you being dragged into something
what would you do? Do you stand up for yourself no matter what?

First of all, i would make sure for myself whether that decision is really based on personal grudges or is it just in my head.
I would stand up for myself if I knew that I were right, not if I just wanted to be right.
If i were indeed right, i would show proof if i had any. If the proof speaks for itself, and the decision is still against me, i would stand up for myself, till justice is served.

this is part of a normal professional life and such things happen every now and then. I always stand up and will keep doing the same.

I would politely excuse myself.
I would explain how hard it is for me to see them doing something that might potentially hurt them...cant be a part of it.

it tells how cheap they are, and how can you expect any code of conduct from people who are already so cheap to mingle their personal and professional life just being petty and revengeful. I can only feel pity for such losers.
