ok now we all know patees..i don’t know if it has a name in english. patties are basically like shami kabas. so what are the “patees” that come in chicken and vegetable , are available is schools, college, universities and bakeries called? or spelled?
Re: what do you call this thing?
slackira its usually spelled patties......and called patties in English too...................
Re: what do you call this thing?
i have never heard anyone say 'patties' in engalnd...they are called 'pasties' here i think....pastry filled with chicken, keema, cheese?
Re: what do you call this thing?
Yep, in USA also they are called pastries and they taste nothing like the ones we get back home...boohoooo, I want those yummy Chicken Patties and aaloo patties we get in Karachi.
Re: what do you call this thing?
patties and pastries are two different things .. patties are flat kababs like shami/chapli kababs
Well, we call them patties.... they are pronounced "Patteez" in Pakistan but written "Patties".
Here in USA Patties are flat kababs like you said while our Patteez are called pastry .... I found that totally weird.
Re: what do you call this thing?
lol..well the confusion remains..and the verdict is..its round flat shami kababs in the west and puffy roundish in the east..both r called patties.
Re: what do you call this thing?
england doesnt have patties or pastries.......we just have PASTY (sigular) or PASTIES (plural) which are puff pastry filled with nice stuff...
kebabs are just kebabs
we like to be unique :)
Re: what do you call this thing?
the chicken "patties" u find in pakistan are really easy to make. just buy some puff pastry, fill with chicken, and bake.
