Many of the posters have been around for quite a while. Many have joined in the late 90s itself. While I dont see many of the old posters here, many still post. Many Indian posters are banned I can see while reading their posts 
What is that keeps you motivated to be here.. to post so often as you do..
Let me start. I am not an old timer.. but still
Being an Indian, I think this is one of the rare forums that I can express my views openly without getting banned before I press “enter” on the keyboard. I do not think that there are many sites which allows so much freedom of expression. Also I get to learn a lot. I can see a lot of intelligent debates happening where it is difficult to hold sides.
That said I also would like to highlight a couple of pet peeves..

Many good Indian posters have been banned. I might not have read all their posts, but they came across to be sensible most of the times

Not much happening in World Affairs

People indulge in personal attacks. I am not saying that the mods are not doing a good job. They are, most of the times. But some posters are given a lot of leeway which is not great
i still dont know how to make friends. At times when I am feeling sad i start reading other people discussion here, usually feel happy even laugh 
at times. GS is like another world for me where i can relax, get some good idea, take advice and get updated
