Re: What do u girls do with ur dresses after the wedding/engagement?

oh thank god my inlaws dont choose my clothes... it wud be a nightmare for me in the nicest possible way lol!

Re: What do u girls do with ur dresses after the wedding/engagement?

the mangni outfit was from them...it looked nice from a distance...but the material was itcy, and velvety and my mangni was in the summer....i did not understand who wears velvet in august..apparently they think it snows all year round in the west...so decided to be safe and buy me something that would protect me in the arctic.

Re: What do u girls do with ur dresses after the wedding/engagement?

i got engaged in december 2008 ....i liked my outfit was red shalwar kameez from my in laws....

i havent worn it again but only because i dont want to ruin it...its really special to me ( i bet that sounds really weird) but my firend is gettin married so might wear it at her wedding x

Re: What do u girls do with ur dresses after the wedding/engagement?

You guys are so lucky u could wear it again. Im the last in my family to get married and so is my husband. My nikah outfit was as heavy as a bridal, with a train and all. And my shaadi and valima are really heavy too. And I don't have that many close single friends left and the one who is already told me I can't wear my outfits to her wedding cuz they're too cute.

So i'll just be wearing it around the house for my husband...reliving our wedding :)

Re: What do u girls do with ur dresses after the wedding/engagement?

There's a wedding in my husband's family and I was all exicted to wear my Nikkah outfit again (my husband is wearing his sherwani) until one day when I tried it on and realized that not only it weighs like 50 pounds but has a trail as well. Now if I was just sitting in one place and looking pretty then I don't mind but Im gona be walking around and dancing! And no, I definitely don't want the bride to glare at me for dressing up so much, haha.. it's a pretty heavy jora, I don't think Im gonna be wearing it anytime soon.

yeah mines pretty heavy too, and its a pretty traditional looking wedding lengha,so itd look mighty weird if i wore it to a wedding.
my walimah lengha i might be able to get away with!
